Single Sign On (SSO) is a single user authentication and registration system designed for deployment accross www.bbc.co.uk and other platforms such as interactive television and mobile devices. It replaces multiple, seperate service systems which were difficult to maintain and not user friendly.
The European Data Protection Act stipulates that all personal data held by a company, must be produced within 10 days of request by a user. Single Sign On not only makes this possible, but allows users to have full control of their personal data held by the BBC.
